Very moved by the events of yesterday’s 100th anniversary of\u00a0\u00a0the start of the Battle of the Somme.\u00a0It is beyond my understanding as to why the battle and how those poor men\u00a0\u00a0had the courage to go over the top. The people dressed as soldiers all over the country giving out a card with the name of a soldier plus his age who died on that first was particularly poignant .We still don’t appear to have learnt the lessons of a hundred years ago.
