Sorry about the lack of posts we have had a few technical issues that have prevented me blogging for more than a week. Much has happened so I may miss out a few things!<\/p>\n
So here goes-one gig last week which was for the Children’s Centre and was hard work because we were outside in this heat.\u00a0Found it hard to keep the focus because of the weather and\u00a0being outside. I’ve got a couple of gigs next week for younger children.<\/p>\n
We had a wonderful Book Club meal last week it was on a Nigerian theme\u00a0because we are discussing next month Half a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda\u00a0Ngoozi\u00a0Adichie.<\/strong> As always the food and company was up to our usual high standards. I was pleased with my offering of Jollof Rice adapted so there was no meat in.<\/p>\n We saw Bruce Springsteen this week-he was outstanding and performed for nearly 4 hours. Amazing energy throughout.<\/p>\n The sad news is Rosie who was my outstanding school governor for many years died last week of cancer. Rosie was a remarkable lady who always championed those who in less fortunate circumstances. Rosie was instrumental in establishing the Children’s Centre\u00a0 in Dursley and subsequently the Hill Valley and Vale developments.\u00a0She was a great thinker and gave up her time for others generously. I used to call her my “rock” because she would always be around to listen and advise.
