Had a lovely morning out by the River Severn<\/strong> <\/span>doing the monthly bird survey. I was chuffed to spot the leucistic marsh harrier<\/strong><\/span> which is a striking and very\u00a0 unusual bird (picture below but I didn’t take it)\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Some of the highlights of the survey were 50+ curlew,<\/strong><\/span> numerous whitethroats,<\/strong><\/span> lesser whitethroat,<\/strong><\/span> peregrine,<\/strong><\/span> 3 kestrels<\/strong><\/span>, redstart<\/strong> <\/span>(my first this year), great white egret<\/strong><\/span>, 5 yellow wagtails<\/strong> <\/span>and a surprise snipe<\/strong> <\/span>(early for this species). The weather for once was perfect!<\/p>\n

A couple of pictures of birds (Hobby and Redstart)<\/strong> we saw below that have been in the blog before (again not my pictures).<\/p>\n
